How can I take care of my pet’s oral health?

Many pet owners aren’t aware but brushing your pet’s teeth daily plays a huge part in their oral health. Using a pet safe toothbrush and paste can remove plaque and bacteria from their mouth. Our team provides demonstrations on how you can gently brush their teeth and get them accustomed to the practice. Other ways you can keep your pet’s gums and teeth healthy include:

1. Use dental chews that scrape bacteria off their teeth and prevent tartar from an early age. Ask your veterinarian for recommendations.
2. Give them safe toys to chew on. Hard toys (e.g. bones, tennis balls) can be difficult for them to chew and can damage their teeth.
3. Ensure your pet has dental cleanings annually. One dental appointment each year can remove tartar which is hard to remove by only brushing at home.
